Professor James Kahindi has over twenty years experience in Research, Capacity Building and
Administration both at University level and the Public Service. He has experience in University
Administration, Public service, Education, Research, Science, Technology and Innovation, Sustainable
Environmental Management and Conservation, Natural resource management encompassing
Environmental Audits, Environmental Impact Assessments, water sanitation and environment,
Strategies for Environmental Development, Sustainable Consumption and Production; Renewable
Energy Solutions, Geothermal Energy Management and the Environment, Sustainable Energy
Development and Environment and Capacity building. His has conducted research in Natural Resource
Management and Biodiversity Conservation; and Microbial Control of Pests & Vector Insects. He also has
experience in Microbial Biotechnology; in particular Biological Nitrogen Fixation. He is currently the
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic and Students Affairs, Pwani University. Previously he served as Dean,
School of Science and Technology and as Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the
United States International University-Africa (USIU-A). He has served as a member of several boards and
is trained in Corporate Governance. He has published articles in several reputable scientific journals.

MS Irene Ogamba is a Lawyer by profession. She has over 20 years experience in the legal field. Her
experience spans from research, case preparation, advisory skills, negotiation/mediation/ arbitration,
training, strategic planning, policy development to resource mobilization. She also has experience in
human rights issues with special focus on the rights of the vulnerable, corporate governance, civil
litigation and conveyancing. She is currently the Manager Legal and Board Affairs at National Industrial
Training Authority. She also serves as the Principal State Counsel – Ministry of Labour Social Security and
services and Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development. She has previously served as Senior
State Counsel in the Attorney Generals’ Office. She holds Master in Laws from University of Nairobi, Post
Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and Bachelors of Law [LLB] Nagpur University.

Mr. Masha is a finance and management professional with over twenty years experience in leading and
developing successful teams in the public sector, international organizations, private sector, and non-
governmental organizations. He has worked at senior management level for over 15 years and is highly
experienced in management, policy development, financial analysis, budget formulation and
implementation, audit, procurement processes and fiscal decentralization. He has served as a technical
expert on public financial management for the United Nations World Public Sector Report for 2019.
He currently serves as the Deputy Controller of Budget at the Office of the Controller of Budget,
Government of Kenya. Previous functions include Director of Fiscal Affairs with the Commission on
Revenue Allocation Kenya, Chief Financial Analyst with the United States Agency for International
Development (USAID) for Eastern and Southern Africa Region, Audit Manager for ActionAid
International Kenya and Family Health Options respectively. He has also served as an audit and business
advisory consultant at Price Waterhouse Coopers.
He holds a MSc. in Finance from Leicester University in the United Kingdom, a bachelor’s degree in
Education from Kenyatta University, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

MS Judith Gona has Over 20 years of experience working in sustainable development of tourism and
conservation through diverse inclusive approaches that have influenced policy, transformed practices
and reengineered organizations. Her key responsibilities have included organization leadership, strategic
plan implementation, program management, project design, partner and donor relations, fundraising,
networking, and human resource oversight. Ms MS Judith has served as CEO and Programs Director at
Basecamp Foundation, a not for profit organization with origins in Norway. As CEO of Basecamp
Foundation Kenya, Judith engineered the growth of the organization from a non- entity to the leading
community conservation organization in Mara with national and international recognition. She has also
served as Customer Services Manager & Project Implementation Manager at Kenya Wildlife Services
where she worked to improved services, conducted assessments training for staff. In addition, MS Judith
served as the first CEO of Ecotourism Society of Kenya where she facilitated the growth of the
organization to a national and international reputability, in addition to leading Kenya in development of
Africa’s first sustainable tourism certification scheme- the Eco-rating scheme.

Dr Eugene Erulu has over 20 years experience as a Medical Practitioner both in the public and private
practice. He has served in various capacities at the government hospitals in Kenya. He is the founder and
CEO of Watamu Hospital. He is in the board of Management of Malindi Sub county Hospital. He has a lot
of experience in the field of snakebite management and one of the pioneers of championing the correct
management of snakebite in Kenya. He has attended several courses and addressed many conferences
both locally and internationally on snakebite which is considered one of the Worlds Neglected Tropical
Diseases. He was a member of the Technical Advisory Group, which recently wrote National Guidelines
on the Management of Snakebites in Kenya. In addition, Dr Erulu is a Designated Health Practitioner
accredited to the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services, State Department of Labour
and to the Kenya Maritime Authority. Dr Erulu a qualified Diving Physician and is involved in Medical
Examination of Commercial Divers and Treatment of dive related accidents and injuries. Dr Erulu holds a
Doctor’s degree of Human Medicine from the Volgograd State Medical University in Russia, a certificate
in Toxinology from University of Adelaide, Australia and a European Diving Technology Committee Level
2a certificate from Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
